A New Record?

A blowout on the field didn’t deter a record number of viewers from watching Super Bowl LIX.

Sunday’s Fox Sports telecast averaged 127.7 million viewers across all platforms, according to final figures from Nielsen and internal Fox data (that’s up from 126 million in preliminary estimates.)

That’s the second straight year the Super Bowl has an all time viewing record in the United States. Sunday’s game is up about about 3 percent compared to last year’s record setting 123.7 million viewers on CBS (which accounted for 120.25 million of those viewers) and other platforms.

Snack Stadium?

Did you really have a Super Bowl party if you didn’t eat guacamole out of the end zone of a miniature football field?

The basic idea is simple: Create an arena out of different little containers of Game Day’s primary food groups — Buffalo wings, fried things, sliders, chips, and dip —and then sit back and enjoy the show.

Do You Have $8 Million?

If you answered yes, you can go ahead and buy an Ad for the Super Bowl!

Fox has cracked the $8 million mark for a 30 second Super Bowl ad, selling at least 10 spots at that level, according to sources familiar with negotiations ahead of the February 9th game.

The average price of an ad is $7.5 million, reflecting the continued strength of live sports in an otherwise mixed TV ad marketplace.
